Have you ever wondered what would happen if a classically trained percussionist suddenly decided to pursue a career in electropop music? This metamorphosis is the essence of Andē, an artist who’s not afraid to cross the boundaries of genres.
You may have seen her playing drumset on Late Night with Seth Meyers, starring in a TD Bank commercial, crashing cymbals and tinkering with triangles in the percussion section of The Florida Orchestra, playing drums and singing on stage at music festivals like Hulaween and Okeechobee in the local original band HoneyWhat, or even being reposted by celebrities like Josh Groban and Garbage for her drum skills on Instagram. But her musical prowess extends beyond covers of pop hits on her electronic marimba, the MalletSTATION.
It is in the realm of her original music where Andē's true passion takes over, captivating listeners with her highly energetic stage presence and addictive melodies. Her original electropop music combines earworm-y synth and vocal riffs with technical and raw drumming. You may even catch a glimpse of orchestral motifs from familiar pieces here and there. It is a full immersion into another world as she simultaneously sings, drums, and plays electronics and synths with her MalletSTATION. Her unique approach to looping and utilizing samples and synths on the MalletSTATION earned her a sponsorship from the creator of the instrument, Pearl Drums.
Before embarking on her journey as an independent artist, Andē earned a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music, specializing in Classical Percussion and Timpani. During her orchestral studies, she also found a love for chamber percussion music, refining her skills in the chamber realm under the guidance of the esteemed New York-based group Sō Percussion.
She was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
